Splattered with cake by prankster pals, Michael Jackson looks as though he's HATING his birthday bash. The superstar promised guests "the party of the year" in a circus tent at his Neverland ranch. But as this never previously published picture shows, Jacko appeared stressed and weirdly detached at his 45th birthday celebration in September 2003. Friends were stunned to see how the pressures of child sex allegations and dwindling record sales were taking their toll. A food fight with his cake - the kind of frolic the singer previously relished - left him seething.

Tormented Jacko was also desperately embarrassed after he was persuaded to perform his famous Moonwalk - and botched it. One guest said: "He seemed paranoid all night. Michael arrived an hour late, in a terrible mood." Guests included close pal Uri Geller, Nick Carter, of boyband the Backstreet Boys, comic Chris Tucker and boxer Mike Tyson. For a moment Jacko seemed back on his old Beat It form when Nick's brother Aaron, 21, asked him to demonstrate a few Moonwalk steps. But the guest said: "Michael became embarrassed and couldn't get them right. He said he was feeling unwell and left for 15 minutes. "Michael was furious when he was covered in cake. He was paranoid about what the guests would think. "He was on edge the whole time. and didn't seem able to engage in conversation. He wasn't really there. I felt he was looking through me."

Abbey Road celebrates 40th Anniversary of Album Cover shoot

Hundreds of Beatles fans have gathered to mark the 40th anniversary of when the zebra crossing shot from the band's Abbey Road album cover was taken.

People crowded around the crossing and celebrated by singing Beatles songs, causing traffic chaos in the process. Four Beatles lookalikes then strolled across the road for the picture reconstruction.

The event was organised by Richard Porter, a Beatles tour guide and owner of the nearby Beatles café. "The picture is just so easy to copy - well normally it is easy to copy. It is simple and it's like a shrine to the Beatles," said Mr Porter. Tony Bramwell, the band's former road manager, was present on the day the shot was taken. "Other than Paul and Ringo, I'm the only person alive who was here on that day," he said. "It's great to see that the whole thing carries on. Through the musical genres and revolutions of the last 40 years the Beatles are still number one."

The Beatles recorded much of their work at the Abbey Road studio in north London. The photographer who took the famous original cover shot was the late Iain Macmillan.

Victims son - Biggs should "rot in jail"

The grandson of the victim of the Great Train Robbery has said it was a "disgrace" that Ronnie Biggs had been released and that he should "rot in jail".

Ronnie Biggs should 'rot in jail', says Great Train Robbery victim's grandson Stephen Mills, 46, he told The Daily Telegraph Biggs was a "terrible man" and that he wished him dead.

His grandfather, Jack Mills, was the train driver who was hit over the head with an iron bar by the gang in the 1963 robbery.

Mr Mills never worked again after the attack and his family said he never fully recovered and died seven years later.

His grandson joined growing anger over Biggs, who was formally released from his prison sentence on compassionate grounds shortly after 2pm on Friday.

Speaking from his home near Crewe, Mr Mills said: "I wish Ronnie Biggs was dead, he should have been left to rot in jail.

PM gets pelted with eggs!

It's what most of us in the UK want to do according to opinion polls!

Prime Minister Gordon Brown was pelted with eggs and vegetables today outside the London Dungeon in Southwark, after a poll of visitors to the London attraction found him the most deserving "Modern Day Villain"!

Unfortunately the PM himself had prior arrangements so a life size person wearing a mask had to do!
