She's gone from Albert Square to foxtrotting across the dance floor to hiking through Kenya.
And now Kara Tointon is moving up in thespian circles by taking on the iconic role of Eliza Doolittle.
The 27-year-old will star opposite Rupert Everett in the acclaimed play Pygmalion at the Garrick Theatre in London from May.
Kara will follow in the footsteps of Audrey Hepburn, Julie Andrews, and more recently Martine McCutcheon and Claire Danes to play the feisty flower seller .
The celebrated George Bernard Shaw play sees Professor Higgins (Everett) attempt to pass off Cockney girl Doolittle as a society lady.
The pair were photographed together tonight at the 2011 Lawrence Olivier Awards held in Central London.
